Diagnosis:

popliteal artery pseudoaneurysm caused by septic knee

Discussion

Findings:
Large amount of knee joint effusion, synovial enhancement, cellulitis and myositis around the knee.

Large mass at popliteal area: central low signal intensity at T1 and fat-suppressed T2WI, enhancement after Gd. enhancement. Peripheral high signal intensity at T1 and fat-suppressed T2WI, no enhancement after Gd. enhancement.

Differential Diagnosis: hematoma

Diagnosis: Septic arthritis, pseudoaneurysm of popliteal artery

Discussion:
Pseudoaneurysm is rare complication of infection or septic arthritis. But if mass will be detected in a patient of infection, and heterogenous signal intensity and partial Gd. Enhancement will be seen, pseudoaneurysm must be considered.
