Discussion:


l  Melanoma of soft part, but melanin is microscopic


l  Intimately associated with tendon, ligament, aponeurosis


l  Young adult (20~40 yrs)


l  25% lower extremity: foot & ankle > knee & thigh


l  Melanin effect on T1WI are not prominent


l  Pathologically nest or fascicle formation of cells with clear abundant cytoplasm


l  Poor prognosis: mortality rate 37~59%


l  Regional lymph node involvement: up to 50%


l  Unfavorable prognostic factor: >5cm, necrosis, local recurrence
