Discussion


Findings
1. X-ray findings:
Type 2 accessory navicular bone in inferomedial aspect of right
navicular bone.

2. MRI findings: Increased SI on T2 weighted fat saturation image
in os navicular, adjacent navicular bone and surrounding soft tissue.

Symptomatic accessory navicular bone
repetitive contractions of the PTT
shearing stress forces at the synchondrosis
pain and tenderness along the medial aspect of the midfoot
