Diagnosis:

Adhesive capsulitis (=Frozen shoulder)



Discussion




Findings: The
rotator interval is replaced by the low signal intense lesion on sagittal
T2-weighted image and intermediate signal intense lesion on sagittal fat-suppressed
T1-weighted image. Coronal T2-weighted image shows thickening of the joint
capsule of axillary pouch.



 



Differential Diagnosis: none



 



Diagnosis:
Adhesive capsulitis (=Frozen shoulder)



 



 



Discussion: Adhesive capsulitis



 



- An inflammatory condition
resulting in pain and restricted active and passive motion of the
glenohumeral joint



- Idiopathic, preceded by trauma, or
associated with diabetes mellitus



- 40~70 years old, predominantly female



- MR Findings



    
Signal
changes in the rotator interval



    
Thickening
of joint capsule of the axillary pouch



    
Signal
changes or enhancement of the joint capsule



- Treatment



  
: Physical therapy, intraarticular corticosteroid injection, closed
mobilization with anesthesia, and capsulotomy
